Under Armour Project Rock: Iron Will

Not Only to Enhance Performance, But to Motivate As Well

The Rock & Films

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is undeniably a man of many talents with many accomplishments to his name. He started his career in professional wrestling, where he first made a name for himself, and eventually ventured into the world of acting, where he has continued to achieve even more fame. One of his first feature film roles was that of the Scorpion King in the 2001 film “The Mummy Returns”.

However, perhaps the movie that launched him into the spotlight and superstardom will probably have to be 2014’s “Hercules”. Why? Because of the diet and workout regimen that Johnson undertook in order to play the role of the titular character. In preparing for the role, Dwayne Johnson essentially transformed himself into a real-life Hercules, complete with muscular build and possibly superhuman strength. Even his role as Luke Hobbs in the more recent “Fast & Furious” films portray him as a character of big build with brute strength. It’s become his trademark.

But in order for him to become characters he portrayed, the path he took was by no means an easy one. It was one that calls for hard work, effort, and perseverance. One does not simply grow huge, muscular arms in the span of one night. Johnson’s routine of working out in preparation for his film roles has served as a motivation for people all around the world.

The Rock & Under Armour

This is why Under Armour, the leading innovator of all things sportswear, has signed an endorsement with the celebrity. The collaboration, titled “Project Rock”, has spawned numerous collections of training and gym apparel. Each piece from this collection is designed to not only enhance the performance of the wearer whilst they are in the gym but to also give them an extra push, to provide them with more motivation by reminding them that if The Rock can do what he has done, they can also do it too.

The model you are about to see below is Acting Sub. Lt. Kanawat Wattanadamrongcharte. Mr. Wattanadamrongcharte is a former water polo player who currently works as a fitness instructor. By his own admission, he also prefers the Under Armour brand for its innovative products and the comfort that they provide when used. He has expressed enthusiasm in trying on some new products from the “Iron Will Collection”.

Regarding his product line with Under Armour, Dwayne Johnson has said, “Project Rock is not a brand, it’s a movement. It’s a core belief that I 100% don’t care what color you are, how old you are, where you come from or what you do for a living. The only thing I care about is you and me, building the belief that regardless of whatever the odds, we can overcome and achieve–but it all starts with the work we’re willing to put in with our two hands.”

This is the purpose of the newest collection from Project Rock, titled “Iron Will”. The Iron Will Collection, in comparison to previous collections, appears to be relatively simple, consisting of several t-shirts and a pair of shoes. But perhaps the hidden message behind it all is that you don’t need too much to achieve greatness (in the gym). In the end, it is up to us and how hard we are willing to work to reach our targets and achieve our personal goals.

Of course, Under Armour’s gear is crafted off of innovative ideas. Whether if it’s heat-relief fabrics in clothing or lightweight-designed shoes, Under Armour has it all at the ready. All that’s left is to add some graphics affiliated with The Rock. The most iconic artwork you’ll see from the Project Rock collection is perhaps the bull. When you see the bull, you’ll know that it’s The Rock’s Under Armour gear. And of course, you need to have some kind of motivational phrase printed somewhere on the gear. Even three simple words like “Blood Sweat Respect” have become so easily associated with The Rock, referring to the sacrifices you make while training towards your goals, whatever they may be.

Ultimately, the “Iron Will” collection of “Project Rock” not only looks to enhance the performance of those who take to the gym so that they may see their desired results, it also aims to motivate those who don’t regularly go to the gym through use of simple but moving graphics and phrases on their apparel. Additionally, seeing a picture or video of The Rock (who, by the way, is 47 years old this year) working out at his full strength should easily push anyone to get up off their rear ends and engage in some kind of exercise. There is no better motivation than seeing a man like The Rock still performing in the gym like a man in his 20’s would. At 47, it’s easy to see he’s still going strong and doesn’t look like he’ll stop any time soon.
